Overview
The VM Edge Router (deployed via VirtualBox or other self-hosted OVA) ships with a default username and password of ziggy / ziggy. On first login, the system forces an immediate password change. This article covers both scenarios: the forced first-time change, and how to reset the password later if it's ever forgotten (while still logged in).
Part 1 — First-Time Login (Forced Password Change)
Step 1 — Log in with the default credentials
At the login prompt, enter:
Username: ziggy Password: ziggy
Step 2 — System forces a password change

Type the same new password again to confirm it.
Step 6 — Confirmation
Once both entries match, the password is updated and you're dropped into the normal shell prompt.
Part 2 — Resetting the Password Later (While Still Logged In)
If you're already logged into the router and want to change the password again at any point:

sudo passwd ziggy
Step 2 — Enter the new password

Step 3 — Re-confirm
