A 429 Too Many Requests error indicates that the client has exceeded the allowed request rate. This is direct feedback from the rate limiter.
Cause
The request volume is higher than the defined API limits.
Multiple clients or scripts are making requests too frequently.
Note on 504:
A 504 Gateway Timeout means the service took too long to respond and is not related to rate limiting.
