You are able to create a new gateway by uploading it as code. Using this ‘as code’ functionality, you are able to create an exact replica of a gateway you've already created or use your existing gateway as a template to create a new one. When creating an exact replica, each gateway name must be unique.

Your Gateway as Code

Click on the green globe icon to open the navigation menu. From there, click on Manage Endpoints and select Manage Gateways from the list at the top of the page. From this menu, you are able to select one, or all, of your gateways to download as a CSV file. Highlight each Gateway you'd like to download or click the circle next to 'Gateway Label' to highlight all gateways. Next, locate the ellipses menu to the right of the 'Cloud Provider' column. From there you are able to download a CSV file that contains all selected gateways.

Your CSV file will look something like what is below, depending on how many gateways you've created and select to download. This file will have all the information pertaining to your gateway from location, to registration key, to creation date, and so on. Creating a new gateway as code does not require all of the information provided in the CSV. A template CSV that shows what variables are needed can be found in the 'Create a New Gateway' wizard. More information below.

Create a New Gateway as Code

The steps to create your new gateway as code are similar to the usual steps for creating a new gateway. Navigate to the Manage Endpoints -> Manage Gateways page. Click the blue plus-sign icon in the upper-right hand corner of the page to open the ‘Create a New Gateway' menu. Scroll to the bottom of the page to locate 'Import Your Gateway as Code' and click 'Create Gateway.'

A new wizard will appear with options to download a template gateway CSV or import your CSV file. As mentioned previously, the CSV you download from Manage Gateways will have more information than is necessary for creating a gateway as code. Select 'Download an Example File' to view what variables are necessary and make edits directly to the template if you'd like. Reminder: all new gateways must have a unique name. Any gateway with a duplicate name will be skipped during the process.

Below are all the variables needed to create a new gateway as code. Variables include: Name, Endpoint Type, Georegion, and Data Center.

When you are ready to import your CSV file, search your computer library or drag and drop the file into the upload box. Next, click create to fully import your CSV and begin creating your new gateway.

Details about your gateway's progress will be displayed once the process has started. Up to three gateway names will be displayed followed by an ellipsis if you are creating more than three new gateways. This process may take a few minutes to complete, depending on how many gateways you are creating. You can click 'escape' at any time and continue with other work while your gateway(s) is/are being created. Navigate to your network dashboard or Manage Gateways to see if any errors occurred.
