Introduction

The Ziti Bridge Gateway represents the next evolution of NetFoundry's network offering. Project Ziti was formed by NetFoundry to truly reinvent the way people do networking. Ziti is being released to the world as open-source software. Read more about Ziti here.

The Ziti Bridge Gateway is a special type of Gateway capable of integrating your networks based on NetFoundry's existing technology and networks built using NetFoundry's newest technology based on Ziti.  Whether you already have existing services and AppWANs constructed and you want to expose those services and AppWANs to Ziti or if you're just trying to experiment and learn about Ziti, you'll need a Ziti Bridge Gateway.

 

Launching a Ziti Bridge Gateway

NetFoundry allows you to choose if you would like NetFoundry to setup and manage your Ziti Bridge Gateway (Hosted) or if you would prefer to deploy it yourself (Private)

Hosted

Installing a Ziti Bridge Gateway into your network is very easy if you allow NetFoundry to host your Ziti Bridge Gateway. Simply follow these steps and you will have added Ziti to your network in no time!

  1. Authenticate to your NetFoundry Console
  2. On the left, choose "Manage Endpoints"
  3. By default, "Manage Gateways" should be selected. If it is not - click "Manage Gateways"
  4. Now click the big plus in the upper right portion of the screen to add a new gateway
  5. You will be prompted to "Choose a gateway type" - select "Ziti Bridge Gateway"
  6. Enter the necessary information:
    1. Gateway Name
    2. Cloud Region
    3. Use - choose "Hosted"
  7. Click "Create"
  8. Wait for the Ziti Bridge Gateway to be provisioned

Private

Installing a Ziti Bridge Gateway into your own is very easy if you allow NetFoundry to host your Ziti Bridge Gateway. Simply follow these steps and you will have added Ziti to your network in no time!

  1. Authenticate to your NetFoundry Console
  2. On the left, choose "Manage Endpoints"
  3. By default, "Manage Gateways" should be selected. If it is not - click "Manage Gateways"
  4. Now click the big plus in the upper right portion of the screen to add a new gateway
  5. You will be prompted to "Choose a gateway type" - select "Ziti Bridge Gateway"
  6. Enter the necessary information:
    1. Gateway Name
    2. Cloud Region
    3. Use - choose "Private"
  7. Click "Create"
  8. Since you will be privately hosting this Ziti Bridge Gateway - you will now want to follow the instructions shown on the page to complete the installation
