Summary:
NetFoundry integrates with NetApp Cloud Volume ONTAP to provide instant-on storage connectivity without private circuits, VPNs, or networking hardware.
In this documentation, you will create a working environment in Netapp Cloud Volumes ONTAP.
Before you begin
- Must have an AWS Account and the appropriate permissions to administer resources.
- Must have a VPC, subnet, key pair and NetApp license for your cloud environment.
Step 1: From center screen, click "Create Cloud Volumes ONTAP" button
Step 2: Make sure AWS and Cloud Volume ONTAP is selected and click continue
Step 3: Choose a Working Environment Name (Cluster Name) and password and click continue
Step 4: Click continue
Step 5: Choose a region, VPC, subnet and key pair and click continue. The AWS VPC, subnet and key pair should be created prior to this step.
Step 6: Accept the default of AWS Managed and click continue
Step 7: Choose Pay as you Go or BYOL (Bring Your Own License) and click continue
Step 8: In upper right corner, click Create my own configuration
Step 9: Accept the default for Node Role and click continue
Step 10: On instance type and tenancy, you can accept the default or change to fit your requirement. Click continue
Step 11: Click the AWS Marketplace link to proceed if applicable; otherwise, you can proceed to step 12
Step 11 (a) On the next screen in upper right corner, click continue to subscribe.
Step 11 (b) If you're not already signed into your AWS account, you will be asked to login. Click Continue to Configuration.
Step 11 (c) On the next option accept terms to proceed.
Step 11 (d) You will receive an e-mail confirming you have access to use the software. You will now be able to continue from your original screen.
Step 12: Choose AWS disk size and click continue.
Step 13: Regarding write speed, accept default and click continue.
Step 14: Click Skip at the bottom. We will complete this section later.
Step 15: Check the two-boxes in the upper left and click Go to proceed.
Note: This can take roughly 25 minutes to build in AWS.
Step 16: We will create a second working environment in N. California region of AWS. Click Create Cloud Volumes ONTAP
Step 17: Select the following and click continue
Step 18: Provide a working environment name and an admin password and click continue.
Step 19: Click continue
Step 20: Select the following and click continue
Step 21: Click continue
Step 22: Click continue
Step 23: In the upper right corner, click Create my own configuration.
Step 24: Click continue
Step 25: Click continue
Step 26: Click continue
Step 27: Click continue
Step 28: Click skip
Step 29: Click the two boxes and click Go at the bottom
Step 30: It will take about 25 minutes to initialize
